Making HTR and DC stitches (UK Terms)
This is how you make a double crochet (DC) stitch:
Step 1: Insert hook through the stitch
Step 2: Yarn over and pull back through (two loops on hook)
Step 3: Yarn over and pull through both loops on hook. Tada! That is a DC stitch.
Please ignore the 4th photo of the mosaic – I only needed three photos, but Picasa (where I made the collage) only likes even numbers and has repeated the first photo.)
This is how to make a half treble crochet (HTR) stitch:
Steps 1 and 2: Yarn over, and insert hook through stitch
Step 3: Yarn over, and pull back through stitch (3 loops on hook)
Step 4: Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops
Step 5: ta-da!
Again, please ignore the extraneous 6th photo as it is a repeat of the first photo.
