Hi Heather, Loving your new look Blog/website! Just thinking about your comment that you are all crocheted out at the moment because you’ve given everything away so don’t feel like you’re getting anywhere – just have a look at your ‘finished projects’ list to remind yourself how A: clever, and B: fabulously generous you are! I am seriously hopeless at finishing things, I’ve got SOOO many started projects on the go because I keep wanting to try out new ideas, lots of them from reading your Blog! Thanks for everything you write and do.

    Hi Heather

I have been teaching myself crocheting since March 2012 and love every minute of it. This is the first time that I have come across your website and have found it very useful and can now use up my wool to make a blanket for my husband. He has been asking for a blanket for ages but when I first started crocheting I did find granny squares quite hard and joining them even harder! Now though I thought I would give it go and my husband is very happy about this!

Nice web page and I will let you know when I finish it! Looking at your blanket it obvious that I have to crochet about a 100! Oh know.

    Have a nice day.

    You have inspired me Helen!
Faced with a foot operation at the beginning of January; it had to be kept higher than my heart for two weeks, I embarked on teaching myself to crochet with books… day two I quit for good. Then I came across your website…
I followed the granny square instructions from the ‘Honey and Roses’ design and hey presto I succeeded! I swiftly purchased some Rowan yarn and embarked on the whole blanket.
I just have 8 more squares to complete then I can set about joining them all up!
Thank you so much for your clear instructions and inspiring designs. My four year old son has now put in a request for a blanket of his own so I will have to take inspiration again from all your finished projects!

    Hi Heather,
I copied your “basic granny square pattern” when what I really wanted was the beautiful multicolored afghan that you pictured with the directions. Which one is this?
    Thank you!

    Hi Heather

WOW! What a beautiful website you have made and stunning finished projects!!
I have just had a few weeks off for an operation and decided to learn to crochet, it was tricky and I simply couldn’t work out how to make a granny square and work in the round until I saw you tutorial! You made it really easy and finally I got it!
    Thankyou very much!

My daughter loves the Big Blue Blanket – are you able to let me know where the pattern is?
    Thanks – Meredith

    Hi ,
Could you please tell me what wool you used to make the Big Blue Blanket. I have admired it for quite some time. Especially the Blue / marine colour you used for the main colour. Do you remember it’s colour name please?

    • Heather says:

Hi Robyn, it’s Rowan pure wool dk and that shade actually is called marine. I don’t know if they still make that colour though as it was quite a long time ago that I made the blanket!
