Hi Heather love your ripples and your photos. I too am from Yorkshire. I have volunteered to make a baby blanket for a friend, and I’m struggling to choose a yarn. I was thinking stylecraft cotton but then noticed some new stuff called drops. Any suggestions?
Love your blog I follow you and Lucy, attic 24. Merry Christmas to you and yours

Hi Ann, lovely to hear from you. I prefer to use Stylecraft Special dk for my baby blankets. I find cotton is difficult to work with and it does make quite a heavy finished blanket. I’ve not tried any Drops yarn yet x

Hi! I love your site and your beautiful afghans! I’d like to read your blog on the Alice afghan, but can’t seem to find it.
    Thank you!

    Hello Heather!

My name is Rachel and I live in Germany.
My Mum is from Leeds and my Dad is a German.I have been to Yorkshire many times and really love it!I knit for the organisation Knit a square! I have also just started to crochet but I have not tried a Granny square yet…Would love to. ..I have been reading your Blog and looking at your pictures. ..Like you I have a baby girl and I was wondering how do you manage to crochet all these lovely things???How do you find time??I do a bit in the evening. ..But would like to manage more…

Hi Rachel! Lovely to hear from you. Everything you see on this blog was crocheted before my baby girl was born! I didn’t do much when my son was a baby but once he started napping reliably in the daytime it gave me a couple of hours each day. I’ve slowly been making granny squares again since baby girl was born but it is very hard to find the time. Fortunately granny squares are easy to make in a few minutes and I can just do a couple when I have time.
