Happiness in a box

What’s this then?

It’s a box, Heather.

What’s inside?

Shall we take a look?

Ok then …

Look! There’s a note …

On a pretty pretty Cath Kidston notelet no less.

I know what this is now! It’s my prize! Do you remember that I won a blogaversary present from the very lovely Rebecca over at The Girl? Well she has been so incredibly generous with her gifts! Woweee.

Let’s take a closer look …

I love the paper

and this one too, seriously, how amazing is this paper?

(I’m actually going to save this paper!)

And just LOOK at this!

The Doritos are because they are my favourite crisps, ever, and this was the comment I left in order to enter the giveaway. (As are the Japanese Rice Crackers because these are my second favourite snack but aren’t technically crisps)

Some cute little cross stitches (I haven’t done cross stitch in years, I hope I can still do it) and a beautifully made cross stitch card too. I love the pretty tissues and get this - they are called “Snissues”! How sweet is that?

I’m going to hang this little ♥ in my new house :) and this fabric will look lovely in my stash box! I AM going to learn to sew this year, for sure.

So this morning, before all the box opening excitement, me and my mum nipped into town to the monthly farmers’ market. We’re trying to make the most of the last 15 (FIFTEEN!!) days of me living here. This is the yummy bread stall, and here is the Fosse Way Honey stall:

Apart from stocking honey, which is all Heather Honey - I love this! naturally, they stock lots of chutneys, mustards and relishes and their own range of handmade soaps and face creams. I am a big fan of their Lemon and Honey soap, it’s just amazing.

and, given that it is my own Blogaversary in May (can you believe that it’s nearly a year? wow) I am going to do my own blog-birthday-giveaway and so I may have picked up an extra soap to go in that box of goodies ;-)

And just as an aside, aren’t these Easter Eggs from M&S totally funky? Wonderful colours and I LOVE the polka dots, but it’s just such a contrast to the market stalls.

I’m so pleased with this shopping trip because I got THREE new tops - this never happens to me! For those that know me, you will know how much I loathe clothes shopping and how rare it is for me to actually buy any clothes. But today, I got two tops from Mantaray and one of those long cardigan things from New Look.

I’m so happy :)

I got a bag as well, a spur of the moment purchase. I am really trying to change what I think of as “me”, because the clothes and accessories I previously thought of as “me” are actually quite boring and there is stuff that would flatter me better if only I was a little more adventurous. So I now have a dinky grey bag with pink polka dots and a sweet little bow. And I really like it!

So now I will look lovely and smart for my trip to Leeds on Monday. Having new nice clothes makes me feel so much more confident too :)

Also something that is MEGA exciting is that Andy is coming down here today! I can’t wait, and I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since I last saw him. TWO WEEKS folks! ♥♥♥♥♥

p.s sorry if any of you got the error page earlier, the webserver broke and so my blog went down. I admit I did have a HUGE panic and refereshed madly until it came back. Panic over now though! xxx

  • Wow - you lucky thing. It’s great to receive parcels through the post, especially when they’re filled with such lovely things. ‘The Girl’ really knows how to pack a gift parcel.
    Enjoy your Doritos.

  • I LOVE Doritos. Oh, and now I want some. I think I’m going out to buy some- we needed hand soap, and I can just “happen” to snag a bag of them while I’m out…

Also, that polka-dot bag is GREAT!! Love it a lot.

    Happy Friday!!
