What a Beautiful Day
What a beautiful blue sky. Such amazing big white clouds.
A brisk and bracing day, just right for a stroll.
How nice to get out and take some photos. What a lovely heart shaped leaf.
It’s been ages since we’ve had that colour blue sky.
OH BUT WAIT. Don’t be fooled by these pretty pictures of lovely clouds and blue skies. That was all just a ruse. Guess what these clouds were made from?
THAT’S RIGHT.
MORE FLIPPING SNOW.
Incidentally, it REALLY bugs me when the postman walks across the grass when it is covered in snow. Doesn’t he know that this kills the grass? Doesn’t he know that this disturbs the pristine whiteness of the freshly fallen snow? Doesn’t he know? I could see him out of the window. I watched him round the corner. I knew he was going to walk over the grass. I could prevent him from doing so. But I won’t. He looks angry. He doesn’t have a hat. He is a little bald on top. He is getting covered in snow. I would not want to be a postman. I keep my mouth shut. Seriously Mr Postman, if you can walk DOWN the drive between the cars, why are you so incapable of walking up it? Would you still cut across the garden if it was planted up with flowers or something? I bet you would. I’ve seen you do it to the other gardens in the street.
I’m sorry for moaning. Let’s look at something happier. Like a baby ripple blanket! :-D Now, in my excited haste to give this to Katherine when she visited on Saturday, I forgot to take any proper photos of it. But this is what it looks like, it’s really soft and is about a metre in length. I used Rowan Pure Wool DK in Navy, Cypress and Scarlett (this is now discontinued).
If you do want a closer look, Katherine has put a better photo on her Flickr.
Thank you for all your lovely comments about my grannypattern in my last entry, it took me chuffing ages to write so it’s nice to get some appreciative comments for it :-D
xxxxxx
Edit: We have been married for six months today :-)

Oh the blanket looks lovely! What an achievement.
We had snow too on Sunday morning, a sure sign that the weather must be bad if Hull gets snow! It didn\’t stick around that long though, it was all mush and slush and general nastiness by the afternoon. When\’s spring coming again?!
Six months, well congratulations!! Going to celebrate I hope!
What a lovely blanket!!!
We had more snow too and to be honest, it really bugs me now!!!! Especially when I have to walk to the train station and that means getting battered in the face by horizontal snow/ sleet - not my favourite way to start the day!! x
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am in my sixties and I have been trying to crochet on and off for years. This year was the big push because I knit for charity and I thought that at least sometimes I could work faster if I could crochet. I have been trying really hard and I have made a little progress and today, with your Granny Square tutorial I’ve just succeeded. I have made my first Granny that actually looks like one!
I’m sorry if this is not the right place to comment but I am so grateful - you couldn’t possibly know. Your photos were so clear and showed all the things that I have been failing to understand, especially where to put the hook for the next stitch - I have never seen such clear instructions before. Thank you so much for taking the time to help people like me. I shall know who to recommend now.
Thank you, your comments about the postman really made me smile.
Best wishes from Gemma
