I’m a bit more on time with these this week! That in itself makes me happy.
I had a rubbish day on Monday, just thought I’d throw that in here for posterity. Among other small annoying things, it snowed unexpectedly during my walk to the shop to get milk and it was a blizzard, the snow stuck to my everything and I couldn’t see. I had to try to cover the pram with a muslin to keep it out! TTB not too bothered by falling white stuff, thankfully. I definitely regretted going the long way round so that I could stretch my legs, that’s for sure. Anyway I got near to the shop and realised I’d forgotten my purse. Then a long afternoon of teething/sicky baby. Then, the sun came out and I had another attempt at going out for milk. This time, THIS TIME, I had a basket full of shopping and I got all the way to the checkout when I realised that my purse was still on the chair at home! And then, THEN, I got two minutes down the road on the way home and there was another blizzard! What a pants day. I was so cross with myself.
However this is to remember happy things, not stupid annoying things! Here we go:
1. I needed some new things to play with for TTB: old granny squares that I was going to throw away and some plastic bowls. Voila! The idea being that he can put them in the bowls and take them out and put the bowls over the top etc. I think I enjoyed having the idea of this more than he enjoyed playing with them but never mind ;-) He quite likes chewing on them, I don’t mind him doing that since they are only cotton.
2. Weaning. It’s been pretty fun this week! Specifically I like that the spoons I bought change colour when they are hot. I am not too fussed about this for a safety/hot food aspect, I just like that they go yellow when I wash them up. Easily pleased!
3. Frilly double daffodils! I actually prefer normal unfrilly daffodils but I like the hunt for the frilly ones as obviously you can’t tell in the shop if they are frilly or not. If I see a bunch of daffs with fat, bulbous heads on them, I always buy them in case they are double. It’s a bit like getting a double yoker! (There is a stall on the market that sells trays of double yokers. Do you suppose they shine a light through them to know this?) My mantel piece is a place that I try to keep nice and clear. I struggle with clutter in my house and I’m working hard to reduce it. I really want us to have a lovely house, everything is a work in progress still though.
4. A very veggie dinner. I can’t even remember what this was … oh yes I do, it was lentil bake. I like chopping my veg and lining it all up in stripes on the chopping board. Just because, really! I always feel better when my meals are full of lots of different vegetables.
Are you doing 52 Weeks of Happy? Leave me a link if you are!

I don’t mean to laugh, but I can totally relate to the whole shopping adventure!
I help my daughter alot with the baby (8 months) and with the usual happenings with a baby (and she has 2 sets of stairs) she gets a puppy!!!
Holy crap. It’s exhausting to even think about!
Sheesh! Like Monday’s aren’t bad enough in their own right. But the rest of your week perked right up. Hope you had a better start to your week today. X

I’ve just read your new post – I bet that goes in next week’s happy post! Bring on the pub!
Boo to the rubbish Monday! I can’t believe you forgot your purse twice, but then again that sounds exactly like something I’d do. Ok, I admit, something I’ve done…
Quite jealous of TTBs colour changing spoons though! I have those tefal trying pans with a red dot in the centre, somehow they’re just not as exciting!
I do like your mantel piece though and I have a similar duck but he lives outside (how mean of me) x
