Catching up again! After I got my ipad my actual camera became a bit neglected and I got a bit obsessed with using the camera on the ipad instead. So. Here is week 6 of 52 weeks of happy instagram* style.
1. Cake. I missed Andy’s birthday while I was away so when he came down to collect us we made him a birthday lunch complete with a massive Victoria Sponge. I say “we” because really I said “Can we do XYZ?” and then my mum does it. She’s ace. So was the cake. Yummy.
2. Yarn! I ordered some James C Brett Cotton On yarn when it was discounted at HCS Crafts and it fiiiiiinally arrived when I was at home. Great discount but didn’t half take a long time to arrive, nearly two weeks. Anyway, TTB really loves the little Kool Kotton blanket that I made donkeys years ago and I thought I’d make him a bigger one in the Cotton On yarn, which is the new version of Kool Kotton which has since been discontinued. My inner spelling pedant is pleased that they have decided to ditch the krazy kreative spelling of cotton.
3. Crochet in bed. This is my mum’s bed, she has the snuggliest most loveliest room and one of my favourite things about visiting is crocheting in there while she knits. This only happened for 20 minutes in the whole two weeks because someone who will remain nameless was born, but I am confident that when he sleeps longer and more predictably I will be able to do it more again. This is my (now finished) Boaty Blanket. I tried to photograph that but apparently this was not acceptable as my attention was no longer on the same person who shall remain nameless.
4. Peepo! Alice bought this book for TTB before he was born and gave it to us when we were there. I LOVE this book, it’s one of the best books ever. It’s so nostalgic. We read it loads, TTB loves the rhyming and I love the whole thing. He also loves to lunge for the pretty pages but I am still faster (and longer armed) than him so it’s not too bad.
*I’ve kept my instagram private because it’s full of photos of TTB, just in case you thought me rude for not accepting follow requests x

So lovely. I have just finished a babyblanket. Mutsh the same as you are crocething now.

If you like ‘Peepo!’ you should try ‘Each, Peach, Pear, Plum’. It’s a gorgeous book and I’m sure TTB will love it. Both my children did when they were tiny.

I already have Peepo! and Each Peach Pear Plum for my nephew(who is currently 6 weeks old) and the next on my to-buy list is Roaring Billy!
I’m getting them more for myself than him really but it’s nice to have an excuse ;)
The other one I need is Alfie
Peepo is the BEST BOOK EVER. Any child that doesn’t like it is frankly not to be trusted.
WELL liking the look of the boaty blanket. Just put earplugs in and take photos of it.
Lovely

Your life seems so blissful!
I especially love the Boaty Blanket! Hope to see a glorious Ta-Dah soon :-) xxxx
Oh, that pure nostalgia for me – I loved all the Janet & Allan Ahlberg books when my 3 were little. I can still remember some of the rhymes. That cake looks seriously yummy. Hope the sun is shining ‘up North’ today, we’ve escaped to Cornwall and it’s glorious.
What a lovely colour combination for the blankie. They work a treat!
And I agree with some of your other commenters, just wait till your dear little boy is ready for Each Peach Pear Plum . . . it’s wonderful.
What a lovely Mum you are.
Dear Heather I like anything by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. Love the illustrations in all the books.
I now have to go into my kitchen and make a Victoria sponge – immediately! (plus your blanket is looking lovely – great colours!) x Jane
