Well now! It’s the 30th of December and that means that not only is it’s Rach’s 30th birthday, there is just one more day after this of 2012. What a year it has been! I have been a busy little crochet bee this year and it’s time to round up all of my projects into one convenient crochet post. I love doing this at the end of the year, it makes me feel so productive. I note that I have not made any small projects this year: no cushions, no mittens, no garlands … just blankets. Yes, most of them are baby sized blankets but there are three full sized blankets in here too and I am very proud of them. Productivity hit a high in August as I sat growing larger and larger waiting for a certain little person to arrive and then BOOM! productivity took a nose dive after the young man arrived. I hope to make 3 blankets in 2013, I think that’s a realistic aim. None of them are for me either! I have a tentative 4th blanket planned as well but I think that’s a little optimistic so I will keep it as a “maybe” for now. (Oh and by the way, I have adopted the cashmerino granny blanket for myself … much too precious to put near such a leaky baby. Also, Stylecraft washes up very nicely! I was a bit put out about the puke until I realised how close it had come to my ripple…)

  3. All of the blankets are beautiful. If I had to pick a favourite it would be a ripple or an Elmer blanket.

I am impressed that you think you can manage to find enough time to crochet 3 blankets in 2013. I think it is safe to say that a certain small person should sleep more at nights in 2013, so that would give you your evenings back again.

  4. What a beautiful colourful collection. Looking forward to seeing your new creations. All the best for 2013 to you and your family.

  5. Wow Heather, you’re so productive! They’re all beautiful, I think my faves are the rainbow ripple and the Baby Granny.Just read up on the story behind the hospital blanket too – how lovely :) Happy new year to your sweet family xx

  6. I love all the blankets, Heather. I think I love the Big Elmer Blanket best. I’m hoping to get started on a patchwork crochet blanket for my bed (king size) but I’ll just have to see. Wonderful job on all of them. Happy New Year!

  9. Oh, well done Heather. They’re absolutely fantastic! I’ve been photographing mine today, ready for a post tomorrow but I’m way behind your tally! There are a couple that have made it onto my calendar for next year – I’m doing a giveaway, so if you want to gaze at somebody else’s blankets next year (on the calendar), then pop over and have a look! I’ve got a mega one on the go atm that will see me from the old year to the new. Have a lovely New Year with your family – lots of love Adaliza

  12. That is some serious crochet, I have made 1 finished and three wip blankets this year, but have crocheted and knitted other things so don’t feel too much of a slug. Happy Birthday to Rach, and a very happy New 2013 to you all.

  16. Hi heather. I have been following you and Lucy, Attic24, for most of the year and am now feeling inspired to crochet a blanket. I have done it before, many years ago, but am a little rusty!!!!! What would be a good blanket to start with? I really like the ripple but wonder if that’s way too complicated. Would live to hear from you. Congrats on becoming a mummy, it’s not easy but very rewarding. Have a great new year too.

  19. Holy moley. You are a productive person. Just stop it.

This post makes me want to smoosh my face into my laptop screen.
