New Challenge

Unless I have a very sudden speedy delivery in the next 5 hours, it looks like I will get my wish for a September baby.

The new challenge is, then, that these squares must all be joined before baby is born. Race you, baby!

  1. Woohoo! Hurray for September babies (can you tell when I was born?!) The best of luck for the next few days, you are in a much better place than I was prior to the birth of my two – I was an emotional wreck! Also, good luck with the granny squares, looking forward to seeing them all joined up and keeping a very new and beautiful baby warm in a few days time. Take care. xxx

  2. Wow, I’m amazed how quickly you have done this, its going to be lovely. Wishing you all the best for the delivery and we are all looking forward to hearing the news when baby is born!

If it was me waiting for September to have a baby, if the baby was anything like me then it would most definitely arrive 31st August at 11.59pm :P Fingers crossed you make it until tomorrow… and then tomorrow you must get bouncing on that ball! I want to meet my nibling! x x x x

Glad you made it to September. My first baby was due towards the end of August and didn’t arrive until Sept. In lots of ways things have been so much easier for her as she has always been so ready for the next step at school. The blanket looks wonderful.

  5. The blanket looks lovely. You’ve worked really quickly on it. I’m actually feeling quite jealous. I started a blanket of crochet squares about 4 months ago and have only got, I think, 9 squares done so far – either a lot more to do or it’ll turn into a cushion cover I think – ha ha. Hope you get it finished before baby arrives, maybe a project to distract you during the early stages of labour – then again maybe not. I kept a basket of ironing to do during my early contractions but once I got in the bath as recommended by the midwife, that was it. I was so relaxed and comfortable in the water that there was no way I was getting out of it to do housework! Anyway I digress – love the blanket, hope you get finished by the time you want and that all goes well with baby :o) x

Excellent a baby who listens to mummy already :-)

Those squares look really nice. I am looking forward to seeing the finished blanket. At least joining squares can be done with your feet up.

I am also looking forward to hearing that baby has arrived.

  7. Congratulations on your soon-to-be September baby! My boss’s daughters in the same position, she was due this week but wanted it to be born in September so he or she’s the oldest and not the youngest in the class so she got her wish too!

Good luck with the square joining :)

  9. September is a good month to have a baby, my only non December baby is a September baby :) you can mentally tell the baby to hold off, i’ve done it with all my kids, strangely it works! Chant it :) good luck joining the squares!

  10. Love the squares and hope carpel tunnel play nice to enable you to get it done. I’ve had it for 13 years now in both wrists and its notvfun at all especially when it interferes with things you like to do.

Good luck with the baby and so happy you are getting the September back you want. Take care x

  11. September is my fav month, it heralds the end of Winter for me, for you the end of Summer. I love the colors in this blanket and oh my gosh you crochet quick, I have been crocheting a blanket for my dad for our Father’s Day (2nd Sept) and it just so happens that his birthday falls on the same day. His blanket is going to be late!!! I need two pairs of hands and more hours. Sending you lots of good birthing love.

Do rest now. Your blanket squares can be joined together any time. All the best. xx
