Snug.

I have to admit …

… walking home and seeing the leaves on the floor and smelling the air after a day of heavy rain, coming home into the dry and putting the oven on for jacket potatoes, getting into my pyjamas and buggling down with a cup of tea or two and a woolly blanket to work on before scoffing jacket potatoes … well it was lovely actually. If all of Autumn promises to make me feel snuggly, then I will allow it to happen. I am yet to be convinced about Winter ;-)

I don’t like using the flash but without it the photo was terribly green. LOVE this Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran yarn so much, it’s a dream to work with and it’s so smooth and delicious when it pulls through your fingers. It’s good to crochet again, I’ve not crocheted in over a week, firstly because we had family-and-friends guests all last weekend and then THIS week I’ve had a manky infected finger big plaster over a very sore finger and haven’t been able to hold a hook. So unproductive.

Now all I need to do is try to do a mega cheap food shop so that I can afford some more Rialto because I’m down to me last ball *shock*!

  1. Oh don’t say you are going to do a mega-cheap shop….that’s the week that you see all the offers of all the things you DO use all the time…this week it was like that for me…augh..I had to have the offers as they were genuine offers of basic stuff…such as Nescafe with 50% free at a very reasonable price to boot. The cost of the weekly shop is absolutely horrendous in any case…surprised if you have any left for yarn….yes, the blanket is beautiful…really snuggly…I’m smiling at you saying ‘I’m down to ME last ball’….this is just the way we would say it over here….it would be too posh to say ‘MY last ball’ !!!! Sorry to hear about the finger…really annoying that, isn’t it. Take care…and have a great Bank HOliday….no work I trust…a lie in?

  2. Hey Heather, love you description of an Autumn’s evening, makes me wish I was over there, but here I am with Spring on the doorstep………..yes, it is just beautiful but who doesn’t want to snuggle under a blanket, eat jacket spuddlies and do a bit of crochet.

Hate that feeling when you get to the last ball of yarn………

Hope you manage to find some super cheap grocery bargains and your finger gets better ASAP.

    Enjoy your weekend,

    Claire :}

  4. Hope the finger gets better soon. I ripped a nail off my forefinger the other day and it is agony so I share some of your pain!

I wish I could crochet more than a long thin snake! I’m knitting a huge throw at the moment and it’s not particularly easy to pop in my bag when I go out. I’d love to whip out a small and handy crochet project instead!

    Hi Heather

I love your blog and thank you for the tutorials.

There’s few worse things than running out of yarn!

Is there a pattern available for the Andy’s Rialto Blanket? It looks like it would be a joy to hook up and even nicer to snuggle under.

    Kind regards
    Maisey.

      Hi Maisey,
I’m glad you like it! There isn’t a tutorial I’m afraid because it’s just simply rows of UK treble crochet. I did two rows per stripe.
      xx
